Delacroix and Hopedale, Louisiana has the best redfish in the country...you have to experience it to believe it! I just returned from a two week trip and caught up to thirty reds per day (27" fish that weigh almost 9lbs.), this area has truly recovered from Katrina.
We ended up in 12th place with a two-day bag of 31.10 lbs., enough weight to keep us safely in the race for the Redfish Cup championship in Biloxi, MS., fellow Flats Class pros Sam Bertha Jr. and Gary McKenzie finished 6th with a weight of 31.78 lbs. just missing the top five cut (for more information visit www.redfishcup.com)! Pensacola is the last qualifier on the schedule hopefully we will have a little more success in the panhandle.
