    Fly tying materials

    i recently got in to fly tying and only have some synthetic hair in white green and brown, i have size 1/0, and size 2 hooks and i have nail polish for head cement and some chaneil what else should i get for more diverse flies ie. favorite feathers and useful pieces for fly tying

    There really is no limit with what can do as far as colors go....obviously natural hues will out produce most of the time. Pugulisi material and marabou shimmer practically sitting still. Flashabou is also a nice touch. Some weight on the flies is helpful as well. They sell them as barbells or in a chain. Keep them back off the eye of the hook a bit to build up the head. Size of hooks....match the hatch. Let the baitfish dictate what size you need. Small /large baitfish patterns and crabs will be a good start. Tight lines...Chris

    thanks does basspro sell the enrico fibers( idk how to spell his last name) and what are the most commonly used feathers

    yes, bass pro sells the puglisi fibers...

    when you tie with the puglisi fibers i've found it best to double the fiber up to make a fuller body... like grabbing a deal of fiber 6 inches long or so and doubling it by running half of it around the thread so you end up with two sides that are equal.

    if you get into tying some of puglisi's baitfish, the way they do the eyes is to glue them down with ''goop''
