    Mirrodine vs. Mirrominnow

After watching some of the past shows, I have recently purchased the mirrodine and mirrominnow lures by Mirrolure and wanted to know the situations of when to use each and how to work them. My goal is to simply catch a few fish on the weekends. Thanks.

    Re: Mirrodine vs. Mirrominnow

    Bama,

I like both the 'dine and the 'minnow...but the mirrodine is like fishing a suspended spoon and covers water quickly, my favorite of the two baits.  Anytime you are tempted to throw a spoon tie on a mirrodine and hang on!  Work the mirrodine vigorously with short rapid downward rod twitches with short pauses in between.  It is a dynamite choice for all inshore species, especially reds and trout.

The mirrominnow requires a slower rod sweep with longer pauses (do not overwork this bait) it's a great choice when you know the fish are there, especially sight-fishing.  It's less agressive and perfect for pressured or spooky game fish.

Good luck and give us a report soon on how the baits are working!
