i'm a fan of weedless presintation since i usuallay fish heavily weeded/structured areas. does anybody have any tips for making the doa shrimp more weedless?

I've had a lot of success rigging DOA Shrimp backwards with a 3/0 Owner Unweighted TwistLock hook. Here's a pic of it

 

thanks for the reply. i have tried that with doa shrimp in the past and commonly use that setup with gulp. i feel that you lose the natural glide of the doa shrimp and get more of a jigging action when you rig them like that. i guess i'm looking for a way to keep the glide but make them more weedless at the same time.

Ah I gotcha.You could just cut a piece of 40lb fluoro, tie it to the eye of the hook and loop the other end to the barb. Just like the link you posted.

Pretty Kewl Idea I seen KVD take 60-80# test and what it looked like or what seems to make easy is take tie a palomor Knot then cut which leaves you a double weed guard(Looks like rabbit ears when cut right-//Tag end and main line even cut about 1/2-3/4"), he was fishing a circle hook with this and using a Strike King Ocho worm wacky rigged...

I was browsing the fishing section at walmart today and I came across some eagle claw weedless worm hooks in 3/0 size. Bought some of them and rigged them up. I haven't used them yet but I don't forsee the swimming action being hindered. The hooks are also sharper than the standard hooks that come with the shrimp.

-the top two shrimp are the 1/4 ounce and bottom one is 1/2 ounce.

No DOA weights unless I'm fishing them Stock.

but if I take one weedless. I remove the weight, rig it forward facing body intact and Skin the hook Point. 3/0 - 4/0 hooks in 1/16-1/8th oz Max weighted hooks.

Lighter the better IMO. If I can get away with no weight at all thats how I'm fishing it....
